If so, have you had any side effects? Has the baby had any side effects?

My doctor said it would be ok, and I ssem to have enough milk. My baby is 5 months old and is gaining weight beautifully.

The reason I'm askingis that even though the doc said it's ok, I recently read that it isn't. I called the doc, he said it's still fine.

I can't take oral contraceptives, because the hormone fluctuations over 24 hours make me moody. With nuvaring, the hormone levels are stable throughout the 3 weeks the ring is inside.

You shouldn't use Nuvaring until your baby is eating more solids because it can dry up your milk. The link I posted has a lot of useful information.

You cannot use Nuvaring while nursing because it contains estrogen. It will dry out your milk, and it might cause enlargement of your baby's breasts and bleeding. If your doctor has not told you this, I urge you to find another doctor.
