I posted a question about ordering from a site that I believe is not secured. There isn't a lock in the bottom corner. And there isn't a https in the address bar on the page where you'd type in your cc info. I sent them an email asking about how to place an order with them if their site isn't secure. This is their reply.
"We have all the credentials of a secure website and are in the process of registering for the symbol"

Do I order from this site or skip it? Their prices aren't dirt cheap or anything. I'm just not able to find what I'm looking anyplace else.

This is how to determine if its a secure website:
When you click on the PAY box and up pops the page, then look for http:// in front of the webside address. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO http:// www. The http is a secure site. and www is NOT

If you are determined to buy from an unknown and unreliable website, you will most assuredly lose your money. They will want payment in advance, and what assurance do you have they will ship the item, or that the item will be new. ONLY buy from websites that have the SSL symbol and the locked padlock. It just isn't possible that this particular website is the ONLY one in the world to have whatever it is you want so badly! Search a little harder!

I'd send them another email and tell them to let you know when they have a secure website.

Personally I would not order online from them right now, although the chances are it would not be a problem.

Perhaps they have a phone number that you could use in the meantime.

Can't you order from them by phone? If you have any doubts about the validity of the site, though, I would pass on it. Can you wait for their security certificate to come through before you order whatever it is?
