Dude get god of war, its a lot longer than RE4, I played both and I had a better time playing god of war, its a lot more complex and a lot of fun, RE4 is fun too but its not the best resident evil in the series. The bosses in god of war are so much fun to kill, and theyre so big.

Unfortunately I am biased towards RE4, because that's one of my favorite games of all time. RE4 delivers stunning graphics, creepy environments, emersive gameplay, great voice acting, disturbing music, and some of the best boss battles I've seen in a RE game. RE4 won many awards for both its GameCube and PS2 versions, the PS2 version by the way has an extra Ada mission, new weapons, and costumes to spice it up.
But God of War is definitely a great game, and a game that has won a good share of awards itself. GOW is a slightly more challenging game when compared to RE4, and the game is more of a 'hack n' slash', while RE4 is strategy and survival based. If you are asking which game is better, I'd have to say that i would choose RE4, and if you are asking which is the better to buy, I'd still say RE4, because there is no point in buying GOW now that its sequel, GOW2 is coming out this spring, and its primarily the same story with new creatures, bosses, and weapons.
RE4 is the current champ of the survival horror genre, for any platform right now, and GOW is the champ of the adventure games. So it comes to this:
Resident Evil 4: survival horror/action
God of War: action/adventure
Which genre do you prefer?
- Hope that helps!

i heard both games are good, but i only played the resident evil 4 ps2 vesion,so far all i can say is that the ps2 version for re4 way surpasses the gamecube vesion,although...the gamecube version looks better,it doesnt make it a better version of the game, alot of textures and changes were made in the single player game, but it wasnt anything to big, they took away things that you dont notice to much, such as,bushes,chickens,cutscreens,etc...and you get all that extra bonus stuff added to it.from what i hear from my friend,he said god of war was a pretty good game, and once again this is an apple vs orange question..
its all about what you like personally, either choice would be fine.

You can't go wrong with either.
If you prefer taking down huge bosses one at a time, God of War is your game.
If you prefer to line up a bunch of zombies (or whatever they are in RE4) and blowing them all away with a shotgun, Resident Evil is your game. Some of the bosses are actually kind of tough on RE4, too.

God of War easy. It's one of the best games I've ever played. But a small warning, you need a LOT of patience for a game like God of War because it's also one of the hardest games I've ever played. But it's very well planned, has beautiful graphics, and if I'm not mistaken it made the lists of many magazines as a contender for Best Game of 2005.
Oh and If you get it and play it now you can play 2 coming out later this year.

I believe God allows evil because mankind chose evil starting with Adam and Eve. One day there will be no evil.
