Not sure if you are familiar with QVC, if not, look at QVC.COM.
Look under "Easy Solutions", or home products/cleaning products and they have several available that work like a miracle.

This sounds crazy, but your best bet may well be dishwashing detergent.
Detergent breaks down the structure of oil, and makes water hydrophilic - that is to say, it makes water wetter. It gets grease off your plates, and can do for fabric too.
I cycle a lot, and I'm always getting bike grease on my pants. There hasn't been a stain yet that detergent couldn't get out. Don't dilute it, or the stain may spread with the water.
As with all stains, start on the outside and work in, dont' saturate the stain, and don't rub the stain too hard - you'll force the grease into the deep fibres, and then it'll NEVER come out. I recommend rubbing it through lightly with your figertips and blotting off the bubbles with an almost-dry cloth.
Good luck!

You should get professional advice. Never but never use Washin up Liquid or any detergent, these have acid content and could strip colour from your carpet. If you must try to clean it what ever you do don't rub, dab the stain. The best product I've ever used is something from a professional upholstery and carpet cleaner ChemDry, the product is called Spot Remover and it comes in a can. You spray it onto the effected area, leave for 60 seconds and dab out with clean white terry towelling. Works every time. You can find your nearest ChemDry franchise in the Yellow Pages.

Use a solvent like white spirit to dissolve the grease and then wash that area with carpet cleaner or diluted washing up liquid to remove the white spirit. Check for colour fastness on an edge first

Try using a grease solvent for the carpet. Its around £6 for for 1 litre I think. You can buy it online. Just search for grease solvent.

hey jules, Spray the section with a 50-50 combination of ammonia and water with some drops of liquid cleansing soap further to it.....make this combination up in a sprig bottle. do no longer enable the fluid sit down for a great decision seconds. Use a vacuum for moist use (it somewhat is very significant!) to suck up the stain. Repeat until eventually the stain has long gone. This technique is the comparable as what the expert use. next time: TAKE YOUR BOOTS OFF! Lol each and all of the suitable :o)

Go to any DIY store, get some Paint Brush Cleaner. This is the same as garages use for cleaning greasy, oily bits (same as Gunk, Jizer) Makes the grease water soluble, then use normal Vax carpet cleaner (please not washing up liquid ...ever...)

Do the same as you would do if you had wax on your carpet. Take a brown paper bag or the kind of paper you use when sending parcel´s by post , lay on top of stain then with a warm to hot iron iron on top of the paper , this will lift the stain out & on to the brown paper
