there is a cord you need to hook your camcorder to a dvd recorder, in order to transfer the video. (I just got finished doing about 40 of those 8mm tapes to dvd for my boss- the cord we used was a digital IEEE 1394 cable) (You may need a different cable-depending on what camcorder you have). Or if you have what we have, a vcr/dvd recorder combo and your home movies are on regular vhs tape (I did about 30 of those also), that will work also. I hope this helps

you need a recordable dvd drive and recording software, connect camera, load video into editing software, choose format and record. sorry for not being more specific but I don't know your setup.

Buy a tv tuner card and install it in your pc then record them onto your hard drive then burn them to DVD's; or buy a DVD recorder, they are getting considerably cheap.

I dont know what extension the files are in, mpeg, mp4?

But something like either dvix2dvd, or winavi should do the trick.
