It is, in fact, designed for a specific segment of the population. It is definitely racial profiling, prejudicial, and a bigoted form of hiring practices. It is not a good thing when you are given a job based on color instead of qualifications. And before anyone calls me racist, think about what I said instead of the political correctness of it. We all have the same size brain, no matter what color we are.

Racial profiling is the essentially given that a specific crime is committed it has a high likelyhood of being done by a member of a given minority. Where as this is distasteful and can lead to blatant disreguard of "reasonable suspision", it is in some ways a good indicator but also a stereotype.

Affirmative action deals with balancing minorities with majorities being hired. It has nothing to do with crime and stereotyping. I'm a firm believer that the hiring and salary determination should be based on merit and race, sex, age, religion, and preferences should not play a part in them.

It is a double edge sword with no handle but two points. Like Religion it is good for the practioner if it is put to use to draw the positive out of a situation. No man is an island on his own nor is a RACE or CULTURE. A plant placed in just water and direct sunlight will drown and dry up at the same time. Though it has everything it needs to survive...why the suffering?

Depending on the interpreter, affirmative action can be viewed as anything the mind determines. However, affirmative action was not initially set aside for minorities, but for black Americans. It was an attempt to provide for a more level playing field in society. Blacks had been slaves since 1619 and had existed in a closed system. They were not allowed to read or write, and it was criminal for any one to teach them to read consequently, when released fron physical bondage they were behind everyone else educationally. So the only way (in the face of racist obstacles) they could hopefully catch up with everyone else and become functional, was to actually level the field by providing a special program for them and in the process overide racist obstacles.

a million. it incredibly is authentic maximum unlawful immigrants in u.s. are Mexican/South American, yet many criminal electorate in u.s. are Hispanic to boot, and no person could could teach they're electorate on call for from police. we at the instant are not residing in a totalitarian dictatorship. 2. particular it incredibly is, so what? i'm not a extensive fan of it the two, despite if it incredibly is fairly not something like the AZ Immigration regulation. 3. undecided what generality you're talking approximately, yet I actually do not accuse human beings of being racist merely in keeping with their group club, except that group is an avowed racist group. 4. particular i might, there are racists of each colour. So incredibly the only correct factor you made is in a million. and something substitute into beside the point.

I don't like AA's policies. Just my opinion. I think it is the very same thing as reverse descrimination. You only get the job because you are black or a woman or asian.... I don't think it is a fair policy. If you CAN do the job, you should get the job. If you know more than another student, you should get into the school. In an ideal world it would work that way too. It isn't an ideal world. I guess that is why we are human. We are not perfect.

Possibly, but not likely. affirmative action is viewed by most as a positive. and not something with which to track/identfy or singleout for punative treatment certain raccial groups. racial profiling is used to harass aand presume guilt by race. It's more complex than my brief answer but you get the idea

because affirmative action is used to award college admissions, college grants or scholarsips, jobs, etc....... positive things that certain groups of people may not have had access to otherwise. Racial profiling is often used for less positive purposes- searching for criminals, or patterns to indicate negatives or stereotypical issues that may or may not be based on actual fact or accountability.

Because minorities have traditionally had a more difficult time getting into jobs that white people normally have.

I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just giving the stock answer. Jobs should be awarded on merit and merit alone.
