I once watched a live brodcast from the backyard of a youngman (age 21) who upon arriving home had just heard his 3 yr old daughter had died as a result of his own dog mauling her. Live on camera he then shot the dog (still chained to the tree). All his pain, lost, and subsiquent court case for animal cruelty was aired for all of our community. I hurt so bad for him.
Now I think, the way they attack every candidate, every politician, no matter the side, no matter the reason, WHO would want to be in that brutal lime light? What amount of money could they pay you for every look, word, or even your children to be raked over the coals constantly by one "cute" TV vulture after another?
They were even judging the countenance of the Speaker of the House an our VP as they listened to our President speak. (Who of you has not fallen asleep or chewed gum in class or in church?) There are no journalists any more, just bigmouth, photogentic, vampires. God save America from these idiots

Well yeah journalists are trashy and yet still pretend that they embody the tenets of old time journalism when people reported the news as it was. I think I am like you I still am shocked at how poorly reporting is done but one day we will just all accept it for what is, a worthless blah blah of sound bytes and not real news. Technology did not make journalism better it made it worse because reporters now report rumors in the hope that they will be the cutting edge reporter. Also, female reporters are like dancers now, there are no ugly ones allowed (or really just ordinary looking people). Its show business and we need to accept it for that and not watch it with the idea that we are going to learn something.

In our free market system, journalist behave in ways that attract attention and sell the news. Thus making money for the corporations that own the media. Most are clueless about the profit making business of journalism. The reason is because the media has been hiding in the cloak of being a liberal entity while truly being a corporate money making machine.
