You mean zebra danios, right?
Yeah, you should remove the other fish. Fish love caviar and danios do not protect their eggs or fry.
In the future, you can also put down those flat marbles as gravel ; the eggs fall between them and cannot be reached by the parents and other fish. However, you'll still need to remove the fry as soon as they hatch or they will be eaten.
You can't really know which one is the parent unless you can tell which one lost weight overnight.

The thing is, for zebra danios, it's sort of the same thing. Zebra danios in a school have a pecking order (an order of dominance), and they chase each other around all the time to establish and maintain dominance over the weaker ZDs in the school. If you have only one ZD in the tank, its aggression will be directed toward other small fishes. If have only two or three, the "top dog" is likely to harass the other ZDs to death. That's why it's best to always have at least six of them. That way, the aggression is spread around enough that none of them get seriously hurt.

Get one of the plastic fish hatcheries sold at the pet store and seperate the babies as soon as they hatch. It attaches to the side of the existing tank and separates the babies. float plants around it too so that the fry have a place to hide and feel secure or else they will become an easy meal to the other fish.
