That's dirt cheap. When my dad got my first car, it was a '90 Sable, which is essentially the same as a taurus. They charged him 600$ for similar work.

I don't think you are being overcharged. Rear brake job is about $110-135.00 labor, plus parts. Average tire rotation these days costs anywhere from $10.00 a tire to $25.00 a tire, this too depends on tire size. Check on line at www.tirerack.com. Ask your mechanic doing the work "how much is the labor, how much in parts?" Don't forget that sales tax can put a $325.00 labor, part bill up to $350.00. Call a couple mechanics, ask what their labor charges are? But...I think your mechanic is charging a fair price.

Did they not discuss the bill with you before the work is to be done? Get another quote and see if they come out to be the same. You can have your tires rotated for free at Town Fair which I believe is nationwide. You need to do some homework and see what each would cost together done some place else and what it would cost if you do each repair individually.

DEPENDING ON THE SHOP AND REGION IN THE COUNTRY SHOP HOURS RANGE FROM $70 TO $100 PER HOUR. THEY CAN BREAKDOWN HOW MANY HOURS FOR EACH TASK FOR YOU. ASK THEM HOW MUCH AN HOUR + PARTS . FOR AS MUCH WORK AS YOUR HAVING DONE DOESN'T SOUND OUTRAGEOUS.
