My favourite Doctor is, of course, the Doctor. Ten actors have played him (on TV as part of the main series) but the Doctor is always the same person.
My favourite portrayal of the Doctor (and this is damn close) is by Patrick Troughton (the 2nd Doctor). I think he was very funny in the role and yet kept the mood of the show.
As well as the TV episodes there are several stories on CD and the radio for Doctor Who, of these I like Colin Baker the best as when he played the 6th Doctor on TV he was given terrible scripts and an awful costume to work with so he did not last long which is a shame because he is a really good actor.
I am also a huge fan of 8th Doctor Paul McGann, the new Doctors (Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant), in fact I love all the incarnations of the best character on TV.

I haven't seen al of the doctor who actors even though I am trying (I just started watching with the current series). I thought Christopher Eccleston was very good but I believe that the current Doctor David Tennant is my favorite.

I thought the current incarnation was the 11th doctor (are you forgetting Paul McGann?).
Time Lords can only regenerate 10 times, so the new Doctor is going to have to become a father.

Tom Baker was always my favourite.But i have to say that the curent Dr - David Tennant is running him a very close 2nd.

i like tom baker, with his yo yo and his scarf and the jelly babies, gifted 200 the very first doctor was in the early 60's not 70's, and yes that doctor was good to.

depends on if you mean the doctor they have now. personally i like the new season 1 doctor (Christopher Eccleston), but the new one's pretty good. did you kno that the newest doctor played Barty Crouch Jr. in HP & the GOF?
