...that we should make the elderly turn in their driver's licenses before they get their Social Security checks? I'm sick of the way these blue-hairs drive. Some poor child got killed this week because an old woman crashed her car into a SCHOOL!!!!!

Most elderly drives shouldnt be driving I do agree with that. There are some out there that can I think before they collect a check they should have to go to the DPS station and retake a drivers test to make sure they can drive propertly. That is a fair way to weed out the awful and dangerous drivers.

I have been saying this for years now but I live in NJ and next to FL it is the next highest concentration of seniors and they VOTE so there is no way they would vote for them to have to be retested and or lose it after a certain age. My grandmother is 84 and has never driven in her whole life so I am relieved to think she isn't out there putting others lives in danger BUT she does go out with her friends who do drive and it terrifies me lol. I think there should be a test they take ever 2 or 3 years after the age of 60. I am all for freedom but I dont want my child's and my freedoms taken away bec these old people need to go to Walgreen's to get them Metamucil!

I think it is a good idea to retest them both written and driving in order to judge weather or not they should retain their license. Perhaps the driving test should be done every year after that.

I agree. There have been a bunch of accidents due to this. Also people should put down thier cell phones, and use their blinkers correctly. They should rethink giving a liscenses to those who are on all those prescription drugs that make you drowsy or delusional. Right on sister.

I think you're right but only eldery people who really cant concentrate on driving good enough not all of them..
