I think it was awesomely scary and I loved the female cast. It is a rare treat to see women cast as other characters besides desperate housewives or sassy lovesick idiots. As for the cave monsters - wow - even the thought of something like that lurking in the shadows can drive one mad. Imagine what it can do to someone already unstable.

There are several schools of thought on this movie. The first is she is hallucinating just as the creatures are closing in on her and we are led to believe she is doomed.
The second school of thought is that there are no creatures and all of the story is from her perspective and she is the one killing all of her friends in the cave as he has decended in to madness after the loss of her husband and child and the film is showing that decent.
The third school of thought is that she never has left the hospital and that the entire trip to the cave is her trip into madness after losing her husband and child and realizing sub-consciously that one her best friends was having an affair with husband.
The fourth school of thought is she is dead or dying and the entire sequence after the car crash is her dying and decending into hell.
Bottom line is it left plenty of room for a sequal to try to answer the unanswered questions, or at least exbound upon them as neither she, nor the friend she killed near the end, is actually shown as being dead, we are only lead to believe they would die.

I thought the ending was the best part. She couldn't possibly live a normal life after going through that stuff. She got to live the last few moments happily with her daughter.
It was a great movie...one of the best horror flicks I've seen in recent years. When Juno accidentally kills Beth, oh my god, I didn't see that coming. I figured Sarah would kill Juno, but just to injure her so she the monsters can get her instead...wow!

I thought the same thing, I think the ending could of been better. I thought see was seeing things again since she didn't take her medication for quite a while...

I thought the ending was great - no one got out alive. The woman didn't care, though, because she was hallucinating that her daughter was there.
