Its from drooling in your sleep. You saliva is drying on your lips causing the white residue. We all have done it and we all have had it. It's nothing to worry about.

It is caused by breathing through your mouth. Regardless of how well hydrated you are, if the air is dry, the saliva in your mouth will dry and form this white residue. If you notice when you sleep with your mouth closed, you do not have the same problem, but this time of year many people are congested to some extent making breathing out of the nose only difficult. The cold weather drops the humidity in the air and heaters will further dry the air as well and both will contribute to this problem. If it is really bothersome to you, close your room off and put a humidifier in your room to keep the air moist and this will help a lot.

I agree that you are drooling when you sleep - but this might be the reason why - with the heating on and probably higher than usual, you may be having a harder time breathing (hot air is hard to breathe) and you are sleeping with your mouth open making it easier for you to breathe. Are you congested at all? You might want to try taking hot showers before you go to sleep and blowing your nose after the shower to clear your sinuses. I could be completely wrong, but that's what immediately comes to mind.

Sounds like dried lips to me. Try Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm before you go to bed at night. You may also want to get a small humidifer for your bedroom to make sure you are getting enough moisture.

Have you had a bit of a cold? If your nose is stuffed up you may have been breathing through your mouth causing your lips to dry out (and causing you to dribble)

Skin on your lips sloughs off just like all of your dead skin cells -- sometimes more, sometimes less. Probably something to do with Ph balance and all that. Frequent application of Blistex usually helps. Slather it on, then wipe with cotton ball or tissue, then re-apply. Keep drinking lots of water to keep your body hydrated!

You are slightly run down. You need to put a little lip balm on your lips before you go to bed.xxx

Put some lip balm on? It could be also caused by you not washing your mouth out properly after scrubbing your teeth...it could be a toothpaste residue...otherwise we are looking at rabies! LOL

You are over drooling for some reason. But sometimes it's normal most of the time it iell go away. But if it doesn't go see a dr. and he will help you. But as long as no one is complaining I wouldn't worry unless you get to perranode.

it's probably a toothpaste residue on your teeth, coming out with your saliva (drool). Rinse your mouth out better before going to bed!
