They are great for them! I have a Paper White plant and I give it the last sip of a cup of black coffee daily and it has grown like crazy in the last week. Prior to last week I was only giving it water, and it hadn't grown a bit.

Above site gives you all the details. Coffee grounds have nitrogen, phosphorus and trace minerals. Plants that love acidic soil will benefit (azaleas, roses, camellias, evergreens). Can just mix them with water (6 TBS per plant) and pour into the soil around the plant. If you have a small composter you could just put them in there, along with banana and vegetable peel. Fertilize any plant that looks peaked whenever with the grounds.

Coffee grounds are high in acidic properties and tomatoes love them. I wouldn't over do it though. Only spread it around acid loving plants maybe every couple of weeks. Egg shells are also good for lime deposits. Fish is the best fertilizer in the world. If you fish or know someone that fishes get the heads and bones after they fillet the fish and bury them in your garden. You can also buy fish emulsion at a garden center.

Used coffee is rich in nitrogen I understand. I put one used filter-full (no filter but...) in a large pot about once a quarter (3 months or so)... no probs with the plants and greener leaves are the result in my plants.

Depends what plant or plants you are talking about. I toss grounds around my blueberry plants and very carefully scratch them into the soil.
