Most pitchers go their whole career and never pitch a no-hitter. There is no abreviation.

A pitcher must throw every pitch from the first one of the game for his team to the last one of the game for his team, without allowing a hit, in order to be credited with a no-hitter. Here's the list. and the source.

MLB.com is a very good side, but it doesn't have that much in terms of the historic accomplishments of the game.

i think first you need to understand what a no-hitter is. a no hitter means the other teams players do not reach base by getting a hit in a 9 inning game. that means if the pitcher or pitchers on the other team do not allow hit thats called a no-hitter. it doesnt happen often in baseball. its rare. on average there is less than "one" no-hitter a year in baseball. so you need to change your project to focus on the the player with most no-hitters or what a no-hitter is and the most recognizeable pitchers to have thrown one. how about this there has only been one no-hitter in the history of the world series do a project on that.

To note Allie Reynolds, Virgil Trucks, Nolan Ryan, and Johnny Vander Meer are the only pitchers to throw 2 no-hitters in one season. Vander Meer's were back to back and he is the only person in history to accomplish that... also Dave Stewart and Fernando Velenzuela are the only to pitchers to throw no-hitters on the same day as each other...also again, Bob and Ken Forsch are the only brothers to each throw a no-hitter...good luck on your project!!!

You should know that there aren't that many no hitters in a season and if a pitcher has more than one per season or even one every season it would be rare

No hitters don't have an abbreviation or accronym.
You can check out www.baseball-reference.com though.
If they list them separately, remember, all perfect games are no hitters, but not all no-hitters are perfect games.

No one has thrown more than one perfect game in their career, 7 is the most no-hitters (Nolan Ryan, none of them were perfect) and Sandy Koufax has 4 (one was perfect).
