They said that higher temperatures would "continue for centuries" no matter how much humans control their pollution.

So what's the point?

If it is indeed man-made, and it is indeed "unstoppable", and there is nothing we can do to stop it, then what is the point of changing anything?

Thanks.

I have many questions about this report.

Specifically how it reconciles that hundreds of temperature fluctuations which occurred well before the Industrial Revolution and how temp increases tend to coincide more with increased solar activity and less with carbon increases.

Also, if it is unstoppable, then the Kyoto Protocol, which was already a very flawed treaty, is rendered virtually worthless.

Global warming may indeed be real and unstoppable. Nothing man does can cause or stop it. Warming and cooling cycles have been part of geologic history for eons.
The garbage in this report is just another attempt to shove the leading industrial countries into the swamp of mediocrity along with the low-lifes in the third world. Ever since the Communists lost the cold war, they've migrated in with the ecology and animal rights wackos.

I haven't read the report, but if it is similar to other reports about global warming.. there is a distinction between unstoppable and the degree to which we are affected. If we all sold our cars and bought SUVs that get 15 mpg, cut down all the forests, then there would be a 'different' impact than if we bought fuel efficient vehicles, relied more upon renewable resources for energy.

As a parent, I would argue that we should change because of our children.

particular it has substitute right into a faith and Al Gore is the pope of the cult.think of of ways lots money particular communities will make off of the hype.think of of all that government money going to "study".to boot there is in basic terms lots you're able to do ,regardless of each little thing whoever controls the climate controls the international.worry is the ultimate political motivator. climate substitute is a factor of the character of the planet.trouble-free sense is to have sparkling means yet till there's a greenback in all of it that occurs is talk, talk and greater talk.government rules, fines and outcomes(gotta get that bailout money someplace) We actually desire sparkling air and water .i'm the unique recycler and that i don't waste means merely like many different persons.i take advantage of means and don't decide for the "guilt" holiday of doing so. I actually have a challenge with Gore the guru who flies around a gas guzzling jet.So does Queen Pelosi who opted for a much bigger one to fly back and forth to California.undergo in strategies her saying she needs to maintain the planet, yeah she flies we walk.we can all initiate by employing the recent means saving easy bulbs. Oh I forgot they're those with mercury in them.Oh,properly feels like a sturdy concept on the time. i assume you all heard that some genius flesh presser had to tax cow farmers for any that very own greater advantageous than one hundred for emitting "methane gas" yeah it incredibly is authentic.can we bottle it instead?Or on 2nd concept deliver some from the bull to that flesh presser as he's conscious the B.S. while he sees or smells it.

I wonder that sometimes, too. I think they are saying 'unstoppable', because they know how human minds work. Which is exactly how yours just did. If everyone were to come together, or if the government would be serious about enforcing HUGE fines for causing eco probs, we would get somewhere. Unfortunately, the people that actually CAN do something are more worried about whether or not they win the next election, and how their new face stretches look. That is why it's unstoppable. Because no one gives a sh!t.

Global Warming is a farce... much like the Y2K scare of the late 90's.

In fact, I believe the liberals are now calling it "Global Climate Change" due to to all of the record low temperatures the world has been experiencing this year.

If there is global warming why did I just go through the worst Ice storm since the early 70's and some are saying this one was worse. I had 3 to 4 inches of ice, no electricity for a week some people went longer. Go back through time the planet has always gone through cycles, I do believe we need to be more ecologically friendly, but I also believe we don't need to panic, anyone remember the Y2K scare?

It's not unstoppable. We will suffer from the damage we've already caused, but if we reduce emissions and other pollutants, we can ensure that the problem won't continue to grow worse... and in a century or so, things may start to return to normal.

It is sort of like never taking out your trash and your house gets full of all sorts of nasty critters and germs. You can begin taking out the trash a little at a time and don't put more in. It will take some time but eventually your house will be livable and clean again. Won't ever be the same though.

What you are saying is like bringing Gastritis to the stage of ulcer...and then to bleeding and perforation, or drinking alcohol to the stage of cirrhosis.Global warming is not one and only outcome of pollution, lets continue life with what is left, and even though nothing can be done, we can atleast manage things, and coninue living with what's left.If u continue to destroy the realms of the earth...each one of us..hey not only u, then we wud have nothing left atall...the propensity to manage things goes down...so u see its better to reduce the pollution we can cause now itself, atleast whatever it is that is in our hands and prolong the outcomes, protect the quality of life we are living in.
