I work with this guy that is fun to be around. We chat and work together well. I just dont know how to be friends away from work. Both of us dont have a lot of friends and I think we could be lifelong buddies. I dont want to date him, but really just friends.

We could I do that is not crazy or pushy to help this friendship grow?

Start off by asking him to lunch/coffee, then drinks after work - this'll make you both used to hanging out outside of the office. If you think he'll take it the wrong way, make sure there's at least one other person there. Later, invite him to the movies or some other activity completely outside of work, either with a small or big group, whatever you think will be more comfortable for him. Keep it casual and you'll have a happy start to a long and beautiful friendship!

Nothing. Just enjoy yourself. Know that one day he might make you laugh or feel good about yourself that YOU might want to be his or give yourself to him. If the CHEMISTRY is there why fight it. Good relationships start with good friendship and alot of laughter. Just like black coffee, good conversation makes it hard for you to sleep.
