I'm desperate. I haven't missed an episode this season and it's at a crucial point and my vcr failed me. It didn't record. I need details of exactly what happened on the show.

Ok, one story line at a time:
Abby/Luca/Curtis Ames: Luca came home, and Curtis took him hostage and out of the apartment. They spent some time looking at Curtis' wife and family through the window, with Curtis getting more and more upset. He cold-****** Luca with the butt of the gun. Then they went to an unfinished building that Curtis had recently lost, but still had access to - he ended up forcing Luca to put his hand in a vice and then had him sqeeze the vice until ...well you get it.... Next, he took him up to the roof top where the police (alerted by Abby) were surrounding the building. They tried to talk him down, and Luca tried also, but Curtis ended up shooting himself in the head. It was pretty dramatic. It ended with Luca coming down and he and Abby hugging.
Sam: They woke to the smoke and fire, after a little bit they all got out, but the building went up, the elderly male neighbor was burned pretty badly. Sam is thinking that her son probably had more to do with it then knocking over a candle (which is what he told her)
Tony/Nela: They found Meg but it was all but too late - they got her to the ER, but were doing CPR for a long time. The kid tried to beg him to "fix her" but of course, that doesn't work. She died, and the daughter was distraught - told Nela to get out...very sad. Meg told Tony before she was unconscious that the girl is his daughter.
Pratt: Pratt finally got bailed out of jail by the church elder who tried to tell him that the church could be a family to him if he would let them. He didn't like that idea too much. We'll see.
Preview for next week: lots going on, but a promise to viewers to not miss the end - looks like it could be something big for Abby and Luca. couldn't really tell.

Yes, I watched it. I'll go by subplot...
Ames broke into Abby's apartment and had her call Luca to come home. Luca came back, and Ames said they were going for a car ride. Abby called the cops as soon as they left. Ames took Luca to his ex's house and then to his own house and talked about how all his plans were ruined. He then had Luca put his hand in a vice grip, and tightened it REALLY tight. The cops showed up and Ames took Luca to the roof. Luca confessed that he missed the murmur and that he's sorry. The camera panned, and there were two gunshots, but only Ames was hurt. Sorry to the other posters, but it really wasn't clear if Ames killed himself or if Luca got the gun away and killed him (if you looked close, you could see that Ame's gun was upside-down in his hand).
Sam's brat child burned down their apartment building, and people did get hurt, especially the nice old man that lived upstairs and was visiting with Sam's grandmother. He's very badly burned. They didn't cover this storyline much further than that.
Tony's ex took a bunch of pills. While she was still concious, she told Tony that the girl (don't remember her name) is really Tony's. In the ER, she dies, and the little girl wigs out on Nila, who runs from the room.
That's about it!

It picked up with Abby being held captive by Forrest Whitaker who wanted Luka.
Meanwhile, Tony and Neela went to save Claire and Meg only to find out meg has overdosed on antidepressants.
And Sam and her group are scrambling to get everybody out of their apartment building as it is on fire thanks to Sam's son playing with his lighter.
Whitaker takes Luka for a drive.
Sam tries to rescue her neighbors nearly killing herself in the prossess.
Tony keep tryin to save Meg in vane to make it easier for Claire but Meg dies. Claire is really hard on Neela.
Sam is wooried that he son is a pyromaniac and that the apartments burned down for no good reason.
Whitaker takes Luka to see that his family has moved on and cut Whitaker's character out of their lives. He hits Luka in th mouth at that stop.
Meanwhile the pastor bails out Pratt who tells him he told the pastor to close that clinic down and he should have done it when he told him to do so.
AT their next stop Whitaker shows luka a house he was remodeling and then he makes Luka break his hand in a vise.
the police show up at the house with Abby and Whitaker and Luka go up to the roof where Whitaker is ready to shoot Luka when the police call. While they are on the phone Whitaker forces luka to confess that he made a mistake in the hospital. After that two shots ring out.
Whitaker blew his brains out and Luka come out the door and Abby hugs him.

i saw it! argh, my session timed out when i was in the middle of typing!
mr. ames broke into abby's apt. and made her call luca home, then he took him hostage with a gun and made him drive to mr. ames' ex-wife's house and told him how his life had fallen apart, then they drove to his house which he was in the middle of remodeling when he lost use of his arm. he made luca put his hand in a vice and tighten it so he'd be able to imagine not having use of his hand and not being able to provide for his family. then he held him at gunpoint (the whole place was surrounded by cops), but shot himself.
tony's ex overdosed on pills and died...before dying, she told tony sarah was his. sarah flipped out on nila and tony when he let her mom die.
the kid who started the fire...well thew whole apartment burned down, but everyone's ok.

Yes. It was gripping. There were a couple surgeries, and this one dude yelled at a nurse and there was some tension between a couple of the doctors, and they had a guest star. It was rad.

I didn't catch all of it, but in the end- Mr. Ames (Forrest Whitaker's character) Kills himself after seeing what he's become.
