I had a cyst rupture on my ovaries last summer. Now I have another one (or one on each side) and it is painful. What can I do for the pain? Should I see my doctor again? (Last time he told me to wait it out and the pain would go away, which it dd.) I have been in pain for 3 days and it is severly affecting my attitude with everyone around me. :-(

I have a friend who has ovarian cysts that rupture. She is in terrible pain when it happens, she can't even stand up. They usually give her a mild to moderate pain killer to help. If it is really causing problems in your daily life, you might want to ask your doctor for meds to help lessen your pain.

I had ovarian cysts, and endometreosis, so severally I had surgery on them every six months for four years. It was awful. Amazingly I got pregnant and had my daughter...........My particular cysts took the cake over delivering my daughter. At least I could push her out to get rid of the pain. My cyst and endomet. pain lasted for a day or more even with medication. I had to have an emergency hysterectomy right after I turned 19. If you have these problems you need to stay monitored by and doctor, and have them drained and or removed IMMEDIATELY. Even though I had mine removed and drained, they kept coming back and were so severe that I almost lost my daughter when I was 22 weeks along, and inevitably had to have a hysterectomy. Please do not take chances with these problems, because they can be much more serious than you realize. If you allow it to continue, they can burst, and cause enormous bacterial infections that affect your other organs, and is EXTREMELY painful. If they are VERY small the doctor may recommend letting them burst on their own, but while remaining monitored. To control the the size and frequency of the them, birth control pills may be recommended. These did nothing for me, but do help some others.

I would suggest you finding another OB/GYN, just for the simple reason that he/she is not finding a solution to the cyst and not all cyst rupture they can continue to grow and be life threating. You can take over the counter pain medication till you can get into see a doctor. But make an appointment if the pain is 10 on the scale go to the ER.

Go see a different Gyn immediately if you can. If you insurance does not allow, INSIST to your doctor that you get immediate attention to this and have it lasered out NOW. Yes this affects your hormones in serious way. I would even go to the emergency room if this doctor does not help you. Go and GET HELP NOW!
