Over 3 million people voted for President Bush, rather than the flip-flopper Kerry and his ambulance chasing sidekick.

Contrary to what many liberals believe there are many people in this country who voted for George Bush. If you want to argue that the first election was flawed I would agree. The Electoral College system is outdated and should be abolished. Presidents should be elected on the popular vote. Given that criteria Al Gore would have won the election. However, we do have the Electoral College and it can overrule the popular vote. There is no wrong doing present in this. Another popular, but laughable claim is that the Supreme Court voted because of some favorable opinion of George Bush Sr. Bush Sr. placed two nominees on the Supreme Court (David Souter and Clarence Thomas), their votes were split Souter nay, Thomas yea to cease recounts. The simple fact is that this is a null and void issue. In the second election Mr. Bush won by a large majority. People need to let this issue die once and for all. Mr. Bush was elected within the context of the laws of the land.

George W. Bush obtained the electoral college vote, but not the popular vote. Originally the electoral college was set up so that rural, low population states would have as much say in the election of the president as more populous states. However, today it seems that the electoral vote is doing nothing more than dividing our country.

If the meaning of your question was, "Why was he popular?"

I think many people are overwhelmed by the complexity of postmodern culture. As I see it, the reaction to that here in America, and in the Muslim world, is an attraction to charismatic leaders who repeat a few simple value based ideas. These simple concrete beliefs are comforting.

Frankly, I wish the world were that simple myself. To think critically in the modern world is to understand that even in cases where our actions as a nation are ostensibly altruistic we often cause many people pain. To face this reality and do the best we can in light of it is difficult. At the same time, it is the challenge of those who rely on intellect and faith instead of only the later.

I have never been a fan of GWB. But I think one has to acknowldge that his enormous gamble in attempting to sponsor a Middle Eastern democracy was a daring attempt to change the world for the better. Had he not made such a facile attempt with such hubris he may have went down in history a real hero.

Dictator Dumbya was NEVER elected. Bush v. Gore was a decision to STOP counting votes and a permanent STAIN on the Court, so say MOST of the legal scholars who are not ultra far right wing.

at the same time as not technically an ape, George Bush is regarding apes, say a cousin of apes. He, like numerous homo sapiens, is a primate and (even regardless of the reality that he dosen't have self assurance it) a decendent of an ape like creature. He many times reflects his primative origins which includes his stupid rules, chum-chum team possibilities, and corrupt massive corporation deals.

the presidency is a popularity contest like in High school. George was saying all the things the kids like to hear and was "acting" cool so they elected him president. now it is clear he was only acting but it is too late.

Accepted? He was allowed to run because we live in a free country, he was born in this country, and was over age 35. Isn't that GREAT! Anyone can run, even YOU! Beyond that, more people voted for him than for any other person running. Basic democracy in action. If you don't like it, vote to to change it! I love America!

What a rediculous question. He was voted in. In 2000, he won by a slim margin, but in 2004 he was RE-ELECTED by MILLIONS of votes. Stop listening to CNN, you are being brainwashed.

President, as for acceptance, he had the most votes
