How long do you keep sentimental things that start cluttering areas of your closet going untouched?

If they're truly sentimental, as long as you want. I would only eliminate doubles of the same thing. People are far too organized these days! What's wrong with a little clutter? Especially in a closet....

I have a whole room of sentimental things that I never use. I am sure I will get rid of the stuff one day, but it is hard to part with seeing as some the stuff is at least 20 years old.

the only sentimental things I have are very small and in few, I don't own many things with that value. I actually have a plastic bag full of things that I treasure and hidden under my chest of drawers, but they're the only things so its OK and those are from like when i was a baby, so 17 years some

OMG, i still have sentimental things since 1992. Mind you when i moved recently i got rid of some stuff. That is why it is good to move....i do most of my downsizing then.

I can not bring myself to throw out anything that was once sentimental to me. Even if it doesn't mean anything to me now. I still can't do it. I remember what it was like back then.

usually, it takes me a while before disposing those mushy things cluttering in my closet. sometimes, i just leave them all there packed in boxes. after all, they mean something for me to keep them.

Until I get another hutch or bookshelp to use as storage, then I shuffle all that stuff faster than an ipod playlist.
