Yes, it's normal. Your fiancee is almost to the third trimester, so it's time for her to really start showing a lot. This would have happened sooner, but I'm assuming this is her first pregnancy. Keep letting her know how beautiful she is, and congrats to the both of you!

I'd say this could be passed off as normal but beware..the more this continues, the harder it will be to lose the weight when she's had the baby. The normal weight gain is said to range between 25-35 pounds, depending on the type of body. Meaning, if she were under weight, she'd be fine gaining alittle more. If she were over weight, she'd be advised to gain less. The biggest reason an average has been determined, is because when women gain too much weight during their pregnancies, they tend to have a harder time during the labor and delivery. My suggestion to you is this, make sure, in a non-obvious way that she's eating right and staying active. A great way to keep exercising safely and confidently, is maybe by using a workout video. I've been using Denise Austin's, available at your local library. Good luck to the both of you and congratulations!!

Yes it is. I gained 10 lbs in one month during my 5th month. During the second trimester, most women gain the most weight. If you are concerned, at least make sure that she is eating healthy foods (plenty of fruit, veggies, and lots of fluids) instead of just overdoing the junk food. A woman needs only about 300 extra calories a day to nourish the life inside her belly, and acting as though she's "eating for 2" can cause unnecessary weight gain she might resent later. To me, she seems normal, so unless her doctor says anything else, don't you worry!

Most women have one month during their pregnancy when they gain more weight than usual. One month, I gained 9 pounds! But then I didn't gain anything the next month and my baby came out just fine. Also, during the sixth month, alot of changing is going on very rapidy and the baby almost doubles in size.
Another thing to keep in mind is that since you were gone...she may have found some comfort in food.
Congratulations on the baby and just make sure you show your wife plenty of love and affection...if she got bigger that fast then she may start feeling a little bad and unattractive.
Treat her like the queen that she is!
Good luck and congrats!

I personally gained weight slowly over the nine months but my one friend didn't even look like she was pregnant until 8months and than she really looked like she was pregnant in about a weeks time. She went from not looking pregnant to looking like she was having twins.

At about six months is when people get big. Before that nothing all that much happens - just some minor thickening usually. Some people get bigger than others, but its all normal.
