I had a stuffed puppy and monkey that were my absolute favorites. I also had curious George. My mom taught preschool for a few years and when I was 8 (I think) she took my george and brought him into her preschool and sent him home with a journal to the "star student" every weekend. I was upset to not have George with me but seeing the little three-year-olds absolutely ADORING him was the cutest thing ever!!! Now my mom is working a new job and I'm 14 so George sits on display in my room. As for my puppy and other monkey, here's the story. There's a preschool at my church (not where my mom worked) and on Sundays during the service I volunteer in the nursery. There's also a summer camp I volunteer at there. Anyway, my puppy and monkey now live in the preschool at church. The real unfortunate thing is that my puppy lives in the toddler room, and sadly gets treated like the toys in toy story 3. But my monkey is in the 4's-5's classroom and those children love him as much as I do.

DirtyD,
Yes I do and I'm 61 one years old. It's a stuffed animal, precisely a Teddy Bear with both eye's missing, it's name is Virgil and I named it that after a close friend of mine. When I was little my friend moved away and I missed him so much I named my Teddy Bear after him. Why I still have it to this day I can not say, but I do. I have never seen him again, but he's still kind of with me. I was only 7 years old at the time.

When I was six years old I got my tonsils out and when I was in the hospital my parents bought me this red dog that I thought was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It is some kind of velvety material with faux fur ears and looks like a poodle. It is a musical dog but the wind up thing does not work anymore. I thought he looked like a well groomed french poodle and named him Pierre. I am now 44 years old and still have Pierre. The music no longer works and his head is a little lopsided but other than that Pierre is perfect. Of course to me he is priceless because he was a gift from my parents.

The only thing I still have from my childhood like that is a 1966 Ken doll that I ran across while going through a bag at my parents. He's missing shoes and the crotch of his pants are still sewed up with the bright pink thread I used, lol. I am keeping him of course.

I have my favorite doll, Emily, in my old oak chest that has been passed down to me. My mom still has my favorite baby blanket and my favorite stuffed animal, a glo-worm, in her fireproof safe in her closet.

I still have my favorite teddy bear from when I was so little I can't even remember when I first got it. I see no reason not to have it, it was a major part of my childhood, so why get rid of it. Plus, it helps when I'm scared of the boogey man at night. :)
