Probably the Philippines would had been part of either Indonesia or Malaysia. Actually many words in the Pampango and Ilocano dialects are similar to words in Indonesian or Malaysian languages. I am a Filipino and had been to both countries for quite sometime. When they speak in their native language, I can pick up some of the words they're saying.

it was only discovered and claimed by spain..most of asia were well aware of it, they just didnt conqure it..but i would say portugal or france
