I would have to say that it's not a problem with it's digestive tract or it would have killed the fish within two years. You fish could just be the pig of the pond and be a bit fat, or of course it could be a she and she is carrying eggs around all the time due to the lack of a ready male. Either way, if it ain't broke, don't fix it I say.

Bettas are tropical, gold fish are coldwater. there's a huge challenge authentic there. Goldfish are messy. 2 in a 20 gallon is over means, plus they are going to get way greater advantageous than the betta, that's never sturdy. Goldfish are additionally quicker than a betta, who's a incredibly slow swimmer, so it is going to likely be not undemanding to make beneficial it gets foodstuff, incredibly through fact the goldfish advance. additionally, bettas do not do properly in reliable currents. Their fins are like a sizable parachute. it can't incredibly swim too properly against it, and it incredibly is not sturdy for it. they are not very rapid/reliable swimmers, as i discussed. you may attempt searching for older solutions in the past posting a query. i'm incredibly beneficial this same element has been replied approximately 10 cases this week. i be conscious of questions have been asked approximately bettas and goldfish, bettas and different fish, how vast a tank a goldfish desires... merely in the previous week.

That fish suffers a disease called dropsy. Often fish die from it, sometimes they survive and heal, and sometimes they survive but never heal. If its been that way for two years there isn't much you can do. Its body could be filled with fluids and that is why it never healed. If it isn't getting worse than just leave it be.
