i removed it in june for surgery, i can get a normal hoop earring in but can't twist it round, any suggestions to get bar back in?

i don't wanna have to have it re pierced if i can avoid that

Start with the normal hoop earring, then work your way up through the gauges. Wait until the soreness or possible swelling subside before moving on to the next gauge.

Wet the area so it softens it up, lay down and try gently pushing it through the hole.

It sounds as though the hole has healed and will need re-piercing.
