We have a lot of old phone books where I work. They are Northern VA books so they are huge. I am looking for someone to haul them away for free to recycle. Don't the Boy Scouts do this type of thing?

What is "a lot" exactly. If your work recycles, I don't see why you couldn't include them with that, but since that is obvious, I am assuming that is not the case.

You should try to call the local recycler; if you have mass quantities then they might actually come to your work and pick them up.

I'm not sure about boy scouts doing that, they might do that as service work but to be honest I don't think you can just call them up and ask, but I'm not really sure....

Hey I'm really glad you are concerned with recycling though! I'm very glad your not just throwing them away and filling more landfills! If nothing works, bring them to the recycling center yourself mabye, it may be a lot of work but it would be a workout and help the planet :-)

Most areas have a recycling center in the city. Go into one of those phone books and look it up.

Maybe you could look up some environmental organizations. The wife of my boss uses the pages of these old fone books to wipe off the grease from dirty plates so the plates are easier to wash.
