Because!
If for some reason, you live to the year 3245, it might be a couple of degrees hotter!
Can you imagine?!
Think, man!

I don't know how big of a problem global warming is, i usually don't trust people who tell me that the world is coming to an end and we are all going to die.
However, when it comes to your question, why not try to stop it? This sounds just like an argument that i heard from the republicans about stem cells. "Medical use for stem cells is still 15 years away, that can't help anyone now, so we should not increase funding." I believe that was from Missouri.
Also, this means that Al Gore was right that global warming is a problem and caused by man. As opposed to the republican position that it flat out doesn't exist. Why not call George bush the bumpkin?

OMG!! Call Al Gore, he'll save us all!! There is still too much debate amonst so called experts as to the real existence of GW. Are we seeing a warming trend, yes, it's hard to debate that. Will this trend continue for the next 100 years or indefinitely, no one knows. It's funny, back when I was in school, they talked about the next ice age!! That was only 30 years ago, not so long. I tend to believe we are grossly over exaggerating the GW issue, it has become media sensationalism along with what was Y2K and now Swine Flu. That said, efforts that we as humans are taking to be less wasteful, recycle and be more efficient is always a good thing.

Because we can limit the degree of the warming. The warmer it gets the more violent and drastic the change will be. Why let it get worse? Why not try and do some damage control and limit the effect?
If your house was on fire would you try and put it out, even though it is going to be seriously damaged no matter what? Of course you would. Maybe you can save some of it.

No, it does not say that our actions will have no effect. Even if we do nothing, global warming will continue, because of the damage that we've already done,
BUT, if we continue to abuse the environment as we are currently doing, the problem will be worse. If we increase our production of green house gases, it will accelerate the process and cause tremendous damage that will affect every human beings and animal on the face of the planet.

The only reason I pay attention to it is because of the economic manipulations that politics will play in the "Global Warming" theories. Quite frankly scientists whatever their IQ all seem to have a this doomsday mentality that makes me question everything they say. Hell just a few decades ago they said we all be in an ice age right now, well that didn't work out to their advantage so let's manipulate the folks with global warming thing and see if we can make they dance to our tune.

So I guess your argument could be boiled down to something like this:
1) We have created a problem.
2) What's done is done and can't be undone for centuries.
3) So, wahoo, let's go out and do so more and make it worse!
That's real smart, brainiac!

There's a contingent of "scientists" and "experts" out there who are on the corporate payroll to claim to debunk global warming. One video-news release I've heard about quotes a "leading scientist" but the research was paid for by Exxon-Mobil. Sounds like you're one of those who bought the big lie. What's your source, anyway?
Finally, there are a number of people out there for figure the problem's not worth getting upset about, because they figure they'll be long-dead before the problem is worse. I like to think about my children and grandchildren's lives, as well as my own, however....
So yes, I worry. Anyone who doesn't should volunteer for moon colonization.

I worry about global warming because anti-american and anti-capitalists are using an emotional issue based on specious reasoning to blame america for the planet dying, and therefore use this bogus issue in a power play.

Ok so you keep believing that everything is fine and I will believe the 113 scientists that know a lot more than do.
