No! Of course not! Webkinz is for ages 5 and up and is intended to include content for all ages and levels of computer skill within that range. They have designed their site to reach the widest possible audience within that range. I understand that some of the games can be hard for younger user but their understanding makes a little one enjoy the site with the help of an adult. They have designed some of their other games and jobs for younger kids. Both fence Painting and Shoe Store Clerk are jobs for little kids because they are matching. And they are fun and doable with younger users. In the arcade, I reccomend Wacky Zingoz and Tulip Trouble 2. Younger users can also enjoy all of the non game methods of making money, including the Wheel of Wow, Wishing Well and the Care Award, and best of all the 5 to 6 questions in Quizzy's Question Corner! Over 1000 trivia questions that make KinzCash more faster than any other games.

I hope this information will help you and your child enjoy Webkinz World just as much as I do!

I bought a webkinz because I work with kids. I find the website is just like any for video games -- it is a safe place for kids to hang out. I find the website is down pretty frequently. The pets are pricey for what they are -- but you do get the year of the web for 'free" Most kids I would think will lose interest quickly but when I asked in my elementary class K-5 -- all but maybe 2 kids had at least one. I do think it's important for kids to have what other kids have -- if it's age appropriate -- if it's not bad and one is plenty to feel part of things. I always let my kids buy whatever they wanted within reason with "their" money that they earned. Some of the poor choices were the best lessons.

webkinz is an appropriate site for any age the only thing is that at five years old she might not understand webkinz but buying one for her will be a very good learning experience and will help her alot in school
