Shnoobles.....I never knew where or when I picked it up.....It's just one of those little nicknames you come up with out of nowhere, and use as an endearment for small children..... puppies..... kittens....

It's the Spanish word "amarillo." When I was learning Spanish I just loved the way it rolled off the tongue.

I'm more inclined to use a euphemism in place of a pejorative term when it has more vowels and sounds less shrill or percussive.
