Poo poop dee doo........
HMmmmm......... Lets see. I'm not going to bother addressing the issue of English vs. Yanks, since it is apparent from your question that your intention is to create a climate of mutual dislike between two very close nations.
Instead I will focus my attention on "YOU" directly, because I feel that you are not what you say you are. You might even be one of those little monkey boys with the tiny little peckers that try to pass it off as a "dick".
Personally, I find both English and American men, (and a few Canadian and Aussie's ) VERY attractive and able to get it "UP" if you get my meaning. I've never been left "hanging" by any of them. They can all be gentlemen when they need or want too, unlike some of the men in other parts of the world who need to keep making love to their goats and camels, because that is all they are suited for.
I think that what you have going on is a Freudian thing. It's called penis envy and is caused by pent up feelings of frustration due to your self denial concerning sexual activity. You really need to get a doctor to help you with this. They have all kinds of therapy and medications to help people in your pitiful frame of mind.
The truth is Americans and English have been friends ever since the last British invasion of the U.S. in 1814 (War of 1812). With the English fighting wars on three front's at the time, and the U.S. being in it's infancy of a developing Nation, we both agreed that a war between our two Nation's was not in the best interest of either. So it was considered a "draw", with no deciding victory over either. This is where education, understanding, respect and acceptance come into play. (Something it appears you have no concept of.) The outcome was handled by diplomacy to avoid any further bloodshed.
So you see........ it's going to take a bigger "wedge" than what your tiny little "thing" can muster to separate our two nations. Because as George Bernard Shaw once wrote: "The English and the Americans are two peoples separated by a common language."

Although soccer (SOCA) is an English term, it is an oooooold English term that didn't really catch on. The fact a lot of foreigners use the term, though well within their rights to do so, is a bit annoying for Brits. It's kinda like watching the telephonoscope. You don't, you watch the TV! How about 'hoofball'? Or will that get confused with Bolton football club? ;)

The USA does not quail and worship the English. As a country it deliberately crushed the United Kingdom economically by making us repay loans necessary for the UK to act as the bulwark of freedom between 1939 and 1945 in the Second World War in order to prevent the UK from being a rival world power. These loans were finally paid off last December. Many Americans have "baggage" about England in particular from their perceptions of the American War of Independence and from memories of emigration from Scotland and Wales. This is not helped by the stereotyping of English characters as villains in Hollywood films, and conversely the representation as American of British achievements such as the WWII capture of an Enigma coding machine.
I do not believe in regarding whole nations as "detestable", or "like spiders". The US, UK and everywhere else have good and bad people. I would also like to see friendship between the USA and UK as they have a lot in common historically and in so far as they are representative democracies. However, this requires a fair and equal relationship, which in turn depends upon a number of historical and recent difficulties being recognised and addressed.
Many of the issues between the USA and the UK reflect, in a milder from than in most instances, serious mistakes in US policy towards the rest of the world generally. It appears that these errors are being recognised in the US itself, which is a painful process for them being bravely faced: this is to be welcomed by the English amongst others. The US is finding that it cannot stand separate from the world over global warming, and that with the rise of China and other powers it cannot proceed regardless as the one world superpower.

I'll take your bait..
Is that how you english (lower case e) try and offend someone? Detestable? I am literally laughing out loud...How polite you are, for we have been called much worse....HAHA! I was just talking to a friend the other day on how submissive all you english (<-----notice the e) sound. Next are you going to ask me if I'd like a spot of tea?
And then..ha ha...trying to offend again with the spider bit...What is that? Spiders are amazing creatures who most are afraid of, and definitely wouldn't want one crawling on top of them...They are deadly, smart, and quick. Some species sacrifice themselves so there young can eat...(literally commit suicide while hundreds of there babies eat them alive) SO....Thank you for recognising our loyalty and sacrifice..
We generally as a group never quail or worship anything all at the same time. And in my life, I cannot recall the english as even being up for debate...It's a negative on all sides...Finally something we all seem to agree on. None of us worship the likes of you. We'd much rather argue, and are encouraged to do so...Thankfully....
Ya know I have to thank you for the laugh...your just bitter the yanks got our Independence.

Although i dont think all americans are detestable i think a large minority are. The same applys for us Brits though.
I would like to point out to all americans who think that Britain is there b!tch that you may not be aware but the US is slowly becoming the EUs b!tch. The EU controls all your business and regulates what price, how much and where you can sell your products. It told microsoft how to run its business and microsoft jumped. The US supreme court had been attepting to do this for a decade and it took the EU months to do it. It has happened with many other business aswell and soon we will tell you where you can use your military and how much you can spend on it. Britain is in the EU and as that makes itself one of the most powerful nations on earth, being the leader of the Commonwealth, most powerful military in the EU and second biggest economy and a major player in the UN. Aswell as being a big player in NATO we have our hands in everything and have a say on a hell of alot more than the US. Makes you think really doesnt it?
Britian is the smartest nation on earth and has more say than anyone on all events.

OK - I'm scrapping my first answer as I wasn't taking what this doyle was saying seriously, but reading some of the comments people have put is quite outrageous.
1st Point - We are all allies - so grow up - I'd rather be working as a team with the Americans than a lot of other Countries.
2nd Point - The British were doing OK in WWII before the Americans eventually joined in considering we were massively outnumbered and we were actually fighting to free other Countries as the Germans never actually invaded Britain, with the exception of a few Islands.
3rd Point - Please check your historical records and get your facts straight about this - It wasn't just Americans fighting - you got a bit of help.
4th Point - We shared a common goal in going to war in Iraq with the Americans - It was the Americans that were being attacked, not the British - We went in to help the Americans, not the other way around. I do not see many other Countries offering to help with the lives of their soldiers.
5th Point - No-one is Americas poodle in this Country. If we agree with you, we'll help, if we don't, we won't. Blair has gone too far. That is why he will not be PM for much longer.
6th Point - Grow up the lot of you - id1ots

It's good feelings between American men and British women are reciprocal. Have you seen the old footage, when during the WW2, the British girls used to look at the US boys in amazement. And the Americans complied with their wishes since most of their men were gone.
As for the yanks being detestable, some of the old folks who remember American men in London streets during WW2 are still holding the grudge. But Blair is not, he is Georgie boy's favorite poodle.

I am English and have never met an American yet that is detestable. I have been to the US a few times and have always found Americans to be courteous, friendly and helpful. I think people forget that there probably are some dislikeable Americans but then I have met an awful lot of dislikeable English people too havent you?

We Americans all got together to figure out what we could do to keep the Brits blood pressure up. We did this out of an abundance of concern that the poor Limeys may simply sleep their lives away out of boredom. We came up with a plan to be detestable to achieve this end. It appears to be working.
