first of all, make sure you did spend 8 hours in sleep the night before.
if you still feel sleepy, then exercise in the morning, I do that, that really wakes my up.
exersicing not only helps your body, also starts your metabolism for the coming day.
and exercising makes you happy and you are then hyperly go to work and give people a good impression.
and exercising increase your memory as well.

First of all, the 8 hours of sleep that is touted as what we all need is bogus and was created from a sleep study that was not scientific and has been used since as the norm. Each of us requires different amounts of sleep.

It takes about 5 hours of continuous sleep to have what is called a good rem sleep where we get full rest. Most of us should get 2 of these rem sleeps per night to feel completely rested, but again the time will vary between individuals.

One thing that will cause being sleepy during the day is not getting the rem sleep you need for one reason or another. Not enough oxygen when you sleep will affect this alot.

If you have sleep apnea, you will not get the rem sleep because you essentially keep waking up constantly through the night when your heart stops and then starts up again. This is the primary reason for feeling sleepy during the day.

You can use a natural product that will help you to get good rem sleep that is produced by a company at: www.healthline.cc called "Tranquinol." You will need to take it about 10 days to allow it to start working, but when it does you will wake up feeling alert and it really works.

I also suggest using "Breathe Right" strips on your nose at night that causes more oxygen to get into your system.

Both of these things together should work wonders for you.

Good luck.

There are various reasons why we get sleepy during the day. If your noticing you being sleepy right after you eat lunch then try eating a lighter lunch. The blood goes to the stomach to help digestion which pulls blood and oxygen away from the brain causing us to get sleepy. Make sure your getting at least 8 hrs of sleep (restful) at night. Take a break from your desk walk around, stretch to improve the oxygen flow to your brain. You will find it gives you an immediate pick me up. Drink plenty of water during the day as well. If you are allowed to take 15 minute breaks then use that 15 minutes to take a brisk walk. It basically comes down to reduced blood and oxygen to your brain due to sitting for longs periods of time.

It really can be any number of issues; lack of sleep, not entering "rem" sleep, or interrupted "rem" sleep, not eating right, eating or drinking before you go to bed, not being physically active enough,or just not having a normal routine, just to name a few. You need to sit down and figure out your schedule, and if you have a normal routine at night. Before altering your diet, or working out, or anything else, focus on your pre-bedtime routine. Try doing things to make you relax. Studies have shown that watching TV actually make it harder for you to go to sleep, so if you're doing that, try not watching tv right before bed. Try reading, taking a hot shower, or listening to relaxing music before bed. Next, see how you sleep. Do you wake up frequently? Are you dreaming? Do you have to use the restroom often during the night? If so, consider consulting a doctor, as you may have sleep apnea, restlesness, or bladder issues. There are so many variables to sleeping that you have to be careful about how many things you change about your routine. I would reccomend tyring a few small changes, and if those don't help, consult your doctor. Good luck!!

Even if you get a good nights sleep you can feel drowzy during the day. Usually for me its after I eat, esp. if I have been stuck at the desk. To avoid that feeling get up and move around every hour. Go for a walk, do some desk aerobics, etc... Same thing happens if stuck in the car for hours. Moving around and improving circulation always seems to help.

sounds simple, but excercise, helped me, and i started eating right. That does not work for all people, though. Some people actually have a medical problem called sleep apnea. Which is a sleep disorder, I am not expert, but I have known people with it. They used some sort of machine to help them breath at night. I will attach a link. I hope it's useful.

maybe you're not sleeping long enough. I think the healthy amount of sleep at night is 8 to 10 hr.s, although I'm not sure about that. Also excersize sometime during the day might help boost your energy. Hope you get better. God bless!

Of corse try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep at night!
Then ask yourself do i take vitamens?
Then see in the mirror if maybe at Christmastime you gained 10 pounds!
Perhaps you feel sluggish because of quick weight gain...
If not then maybe you should get a blood test because you could be enemic and need IRON!
God Bless you!
