for one- it is illegal with out a permit.
2nd- they make very very bad pets. After trying out 8 babies to get one tame enough for the animal encounter area at the zoo I work at, only 1 was nice enough to only bite sometimes. And we could only take her out for about an hour a day, the rest of the day she would just sleep- and rip you to shreds if you tried to move her.

yes you can, it has to be a baby one. I found one that was still small enough where I had to bottle feed it. I had it for 7 months, they are great pets, they use a little box. But they will chew on wires and wood. They have to keep their teeth cut down or they will kill it just like a rabbit. The one I had would go and out of the house on its own. name was househog

No but my grandmothers brother can catch them with a long piece of barb wire. They call him groundhog. He sticks the barb wire in there holes & pulls em up out. Now tell me that aint West Virginia!
