Most ovens take 220volts and 50 amps. This is the same as the average heating and air conditioning unit. the hot water heater used only 30 amps. and ovens are not energy efficiant.

They take up a lotta juice. Much more energy efficient to use microwave.

240 volts yep sure does its the large heating element like 1500 watts for a blow dryer thats on 110 look at your meter spin.
