1. Keep a journal to just jot down positives in your life, things you are grateful for, things of beauty, good feelings, great people - keep it on you so you can write them down when you think of them. Read it over before you go to bed, and add more if you can.
2. Talk to a friend/therapist/stranger. Yes, you too can become that weirdo on the back of the bus telling everyone about his abosuve ex-wife... on second thoughts... maybe not quite that far!
3. Doooooooooooon't drink yourself into a stupour. You'll do silly things you regret.
4. Do something just for fun - sit in a shopping trolley and get someone to push you down the aisles. Paint your face and stand in a corner of an art gallery. OK - maybe just THINK of crazy things like that you could do.
5. Get lots of sleep, eat well and try to get exercise. (God, I sound like my mother!)
6. And then there are always lovely little drugs called antidepressants. They get a bad press. But they're my best friend...

I try to understand why I'm feeling blue, I usually know, and knowing helps a bit. Then it's McD's or a few drinks or a good cry! OR all three. Oh wait, I forgot shopping therapy too.

Play music and either dance or cry (whichever will help most),write my feelings down-even write rants towards whoever is upsetting me (so that when I confront them I've got the nasty stuff out and can talk rationally),and clean.

It happens all the time. This is especially so after the first few years of marriage. Tell yourself this is part of settling down. Then try to tell and show your partner you still love her.
Hope this helps.
