The one that says "We're only here for your defense. We have a military for defense from (not aggression toward) foreign offenders and police for defense from (not aggression toward) domestic offenders (whose crimes have actual victims other than themselves). It will cost you 3% of your wages. We don't offer public assistance of any kind, so don't ask us."

I'm an American, and I'm fond of our style of government (if not all the players). The wind will change, so to speak, because our system is built to be flexible according to the shifting will of the people.
I don't support military government because the very skills that make an exceptional military leader (command authority among them) do not lend themselves to serving as an extension of the will of the people. Instead, those skills serve to command the people, and I prefer it to be the other way around.
Monarchies strike me as simply laughable. Heredity is absolutely not a better method of deciding a ruler than election. Certainly, a young heir can be trained from birth and be the best potential monarch the world has ever seen...until he gets sick from stepping on a nail and his psychotic little brother takes the throne.
Socialist governents are a little more tricky. There is the ideal socialist governent, purely theoretical and based on the best conceptual thinking without the pesky involvement of real citizens, and then there's the real thing. There are so many different styles of socialist government that I don't think I can honestly choose one. So, I must say I like our republican democaracy here in the United States. (Not "Republican" as in the political party, but our mutt version of democracy here in the USA.)

I personally prefer the constitutional democracy in which I am currently living. It allows majority rule, without the majority stomping upon the natural rights of the minority.
The only unfortunate drawback is that too many persons in the government today forget that they are our representatives (rather than our leaders), and are forgetting that the Bill of Rights are our natural (or God-given) rights, and not a list of suggestions.

I think our representative republic is the best.
You can't have a true democracy because the average citizen does not know enough about the issues to make informed decisions. They believe whatever they hear on the TV, and can be easily swayed.
Unfortunately, our politicians are starting to follow suit and simply vote based on that day's polls. We need representatives that will vote based on their knowledge of the issue and not stick their finger into the wind to see how the ignorant masses FEELS about it.

well i do like the idea of a democracy but a lot also depends on the country and the inclination of the people there to accept a particular form of government.
But even in democracy i feel it would be great if instead of voting for the political parties, we could vote for individuals( minus their background of the political support), in that way,i feel we would get the best prime minister, the best finance minister etc evne if they belong to different parties.
