Would'nt it be cheaper to buy an external drive to back up with, rather than buying a whole laptop?

My son has a lap top and regularly burns Cd's/DVDs without any problems however he bought an external hard drive to store music and videos.. It looks like a filo-o-fax wallet. He uses it all the time and so takes it everywhere. As computer assess is available just about everywhere, this piece of kit would surely prove to be a much less expensive option.

It will put unnecessary wear & tear on the internal drive. For such activity why not simply buy a external DVD burner. They are going for $49.00 an up these days and your laptop will be very happy. Its easy to toss a burned out external than to mess with a factory supplied internal.

Just buy an external hard drive if you want extra space on your pc. It will be a WHOLE lot cheaper than buying a new laptop.
