As always Yahoo! Answers has turned up a variety of interesting responses, lol.
As a professional in the skin care and cosmetics industry for the past 17 years (or so) I have a slightly different take on things. I graduated Cosmetology school in 1989 and went to work at the cosmetic counter. Soon my reputation spread and I was "free-lancing" for all the top brands, traveling throughout MI and across the country. I have had advanced training with many different companies which has further increased my knowledge and I have personally used a variety of products so I have first-hand experience as well.
Almost as important as what you should use is what you should NOT use. You should not use anything containing mineral oil or sd40 alcohol. Someone mentioned using pure lanolin which is, by-the-way sheep sebum (yummy...not). Other than that being a little gross to think about the real problem is that it cannot penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and actually combat the causes of visible aging, namely a loss of collagen and elastin. There are a variety of ingredients that CAN help with this such as copper, vitamin A, vitamin C and PEPTIDES (these actually help your skin increase it's OWN natural supply of collagen like it did when you were younger). Again, even these ingredients won't be effective if they cannot pass through the skin's epidermis (the outermost layer of skin). What is needed for this is a targeted delivery system and nanosphere technology (puts ingredients exactly where they are needed).
Several other posters mentioned the need for good nutrition. It's true that "beauty comes from within" and taking good vitamin supplements including one with essential oils makes a big difference. Other things like avoiding sun exposure & smoking and getting plenty of rest are also essential.
I think you must be doing something right if you are just starting to show some aging at 50!!! ;-)

With my first she was a year old. She was over 20 pounds at the time. With my second she did not reach 20 pounds until she was 18 months old. Right after she reached 20 pounds we had a 8 hour trip to visit relatives. That is when we first put her forward facing. I think now I would have tried to keep both of the rear facing for longer than I did if possible.

You need to start using Mary Kay's Miracle set right away!!! It's an anti-aging skin care system that was #1 in selling last year. It provides amazing results with the reversal of aging. Plus its 100% guarenteed, so you can get it and try it and if you arent completely satisfied with it then you can return it. Check it out on my site below.

workout and eating more healthier.......eating the right foods will always have a profound effect on the skin. And then a simple oil like olive oil mixed with aleo vera will help. Using those creams with all those chemicals is not healthy and in the long run is not worth it. It's only a temporary solution.

There are several face creams on the market that have performed well in tests. You don't mention your specific concerns. There are creams to reduce fine lines, creams to reduce age spots, and so on.
Check for products that have received an award from Allure magazine. They are dedicated to testing and re-testing products and rely completely on consumer feedback in giving out awards.

Avon Anew has had excellent reviews...and also Beauticontrol SkinLogics Platinum for 40+ skin. Both are great....but I believe Avon is cheaper over the long run.
