If you just keep it to an occasional email, and very platonic, then I don't see a problem with it. The problem arises when you recognize that your feelings are flirtatious or more than a friend, then you need to take the proper steps to get OUT of the situation. Everyone always thinks they are 'strong' and can handle the temptation. Don't overestimate yourself, be smart about it.

Yes you can be friends, just be sure there are no residual feelings. YOu don;t need to give your wife any details. its really not relevant now. I would not classify a relationship like that as cheating.

I dont think its cheating me and my ex are still good friends but I have finally got over him so if I had a boyfriend no one has anything to worry about.

Are you willing to tell your wife about it? If not, don't do it.
