I saw an abandoned vehicle once, and I called the police department to report it.

I went back to where the abandoned vehicle was parked to see what would happen, and 10 minutes later a couple of undercover police officers arrived in an unmarked car and were looking it over.

The next day it was gone.

They should be reported to your Local Council, Highways dept. But they will only move them if they are on a public road or highways, and it takes ages for them to get their act together. If it is private land then Im afraid you have to arrange for it to be removed. Contacting the police may be helpful, the van may have been stolen or used in a crime.

You can report it to your council and they will remove it.However you can apply for the log book for the vehicle and if no one claims to be the owner(DVLA will attempt to contact the last registered owner) you will be sent the log book and become the legal owner.I have done this and made £1000 profit after fixing up the vehicle.

Phone the police. They will move it on the basis it has no road tax but not on it being abandoned becasue if it has a registered owner then he is entitled to park whereever he wants if it public parking
