The comment was: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man." The controversy was the word "clean" and Biden meant in the sense that Osama has an excellent record. I don't see racism here.

No in context. It was a wrong statement, but not a racism one. I do not like Biden or Obama. But to call that racism will make me a boy who cried wolf.

The comment was somewhat racist, but not flagrantly so. Biden actually was complimenting Obama, but the implication was that a black person who is clean-cut, etc., etc., is somehow an unusual thing. I am not black, but can see how black people as a whole would be offended.

I think its been blown up way out of proportion, unless clean either (clean cut, or not guility of anything) clean record clean has become a perjorative while I wasn't looking. What can I say, except that the Republican spin machine has stared knocking off the candidates with the sleaze and slur tactics.

Racially insensitive.
There's a report that by "clean" he meant "not corrupt" - certainly an insult, as it assumes most black politicians are corrupt.
He also made a comment about Indians and Dunkin' Donuts a few months back.
He seems to have some very bigoted stereotypes rattling around in his head.

Not just racism - it shows how they all have an agenda and a hatred. Been to the website of the church that Obama belongs to? That is also racist - it goes both ways.
