I was wondering if anyone knew if I bought a cd in Europe (probably through amazon.co.uk) will it work alright in an american cd player/computer and will I be able to copy it into Itunes alright? I am asking because I just came back from living abroad for a month and some of the artists I listened to over there are not yet available for downloading off of itunes here in the states so I was going to order their cds off of amazon.co.uk and copy the music in so that I did not have to pay for an imported cd or wait to download the songs until they got popular here on itunes. Any help I can get would be great since I wasn't sure if the cds were encoded by regions like dvds are.

yes. dvds have region settings because of the differences in tv resolutions from country to country, just as video tapes do. audio cds, on the other hand, are the same region regardless of what country they were made in. the only times you should worry about audio being different is if it is a special format, such as those super cd formats, or if it has a dvd on one side or as part of the release's package-then you have to worry about the dvd's format.
