I am a sale personnel in a design firm. Currently the biggest challenge i faced when meeting new clients is that they already have an existing vendor/designer.

How can i convince them to give us a try?

Thanks

Thats what sales is my man, convincing others to try what you have to sell. That said what is it that influences your buying decisions when you have been the one being sold too? The most important thing is to be sold upon the products you are presenting yourself, nothing is more obvious than phoney enthusiasmn. Your customer is looking for your excitement and reasons to him to purchase from you. Give him a reason or several. Do not bash your competition as this comes across as petty and jealous. If anything praise whom your customer is using now but let him know that yours is better and why. Use benefit words in your statements such as; assured, respected, confident, delighted, satisfied, secure, reliable, excited, outstanding etc etc. I think you get the point, words that convey to the customer a strong positive image of not only you but the product you are trying to sell. Practice and role play with others in your company and especially with those that are the best in sales. It is a learned skill and with the right effort will pay off well for you in the future. all the best.
