i get lots of those days....
when you don't have a special someone, and not the best of family members, and most of your friends are coupled up or moved away! you get lots of those days and nights! even if i am sitting with so many people, i can still feel as lonely as ever......

It was when i was at school and my mum asked me to leave home, I was only 16. I had a very close friendship group, I told them all, kinda hoping one of them would help me find a flat or a room to rent or at least give me a hug. None of them did, not one. The time i'd invested in my friends was wasted and I was very bitter and that wasdefinitely the loneliest day of my life.

The most loneliest day of my life would probably be the period in which I was processed into the Army at MEPS and during Reception. I have a picture of myself in which look extremely sick, very pale, very skinny (skinnier than normal).

Same old answer everyone will give. The day I thought I might have to get a divorce. My husband had to move to our state's biggest city for a business oportunity we needed. I said I would move so he went ahead of me to get a head start. But then I changed my mind and wanted to stay where I had gone to college and all my friends were. So the day I thought he was already moved and I was going to stay, was Pure Hell!! I felt it the day I woke up. The Heartache was in my arms! Sounds silly, I know, but that's where I felt it. Obviously I let my arms direct me to start packing in the next few days! Now it's been 40 great years and if I ever lost him now I would ache all over, not just my arms!! Loneliness cut through me like a knife on the one day I thought I wanted a divorce, and I always remember it any time I look back. My arms told me where I really wanted to be.

One day my girlfriend was at work, and I was home sick, I spent the whole day all by myself. That was the loneliest day of my life.

well since I'm not in a relationship (or ever have been), I consider those bad days, where no one understands me and I'm left with all this pain and uncertainies that question to god every so often as my loneliest days.

Almost every day when I was 13 and 16 years old was lonely....those were my two rough years!
My absolute WORST day was when I was 13 and found out that a friend that I had trusted VERY MUCH had betrayed (and turned people against) me to be "popular".

loneliness is not a situation but rather a frame of mind, I think loneliness is when you have things and thoughts you want to share but have no-one to share them with, consequently you may be surrounded by family, friends or 100 people and still feel lonely. My whole childhood was lonely. But I'm not lonely now. All the best.
