You used switch correctly but the rest of the sentence is missing a few things. Put an "a" in front of secretarial.

Correct.I am going to switch jobs.!Can I switch Ideas with you.?Switch is also classed as a switch of material.! Can you switch off the light? You could say,I have decided to change my career !I have changed my career, originally I was a Kindergarten Teacher. But I am now a secretary.I really enjoy this kind of work.

It depends on the social context. It has a regional American English feel about it - maybe San Francisco, New York - some where highly urbanised and glitsy. ( Why do I get that feeling that 'glitsy' isn't a word ?) Within that demographic context it would work well in everyday conversational English. It's relaxed, simple and easy to say. However, I would avoid it in most genres of writing and in a job interview !

Your sentence is correct, however, depending on the circumstances there would be more preferable ways to word that sentence. For example, you generally want to avoid using past tense. Also, if you were interviewing for a job you might want to draw emphasis away from the fact that you changed (career) direction. You might also want to lean toward a more complex sentence structure to help sell your ability to a potential employer while maintaining your natural written 'voice'.

Switched is OK but, you switched TO (NOT INTO) a secretarial job.
