This is probably just their colour pigment changing and is a natural part of their life-cycle. Good luck!

You need to test the water for ammonia and nitrites. This is most likely still ammonia burns. If the tank is overstocked then you may not be doing enough water changes. There is a reason you need at least 10 gallons per goldfish.

My friend keeps goldies and he purchased two fancy goldfish as babies. The more they grew, their scales starting turning black. It was a simple case of the fish just "growing into" what they would really look like. Yours might be the same way....hmmmmm.

I had a goldfish once in a big oxygenated pond that change from orange to black completely. None of its buddies did, just this one. It was quite happy & didn't die as a result.

how old are they? my fish developed age spots, which are completely normal and wont harm them
