I know they say its a old wives saying, but with 149 bpm was your little one a boy or a girl?

My daughter's heartbeat always varied. The Dr said it depended on what baby was doing. Sleeping-slower heartbeat. Moving around-faster heartbeat.

My baby's heartbeat was 140 BPM on Monday, and he's a boy! But think about it..there's a 50/50 chance of these old wives' tales being right or being wrong...that's not very encouraging. Thus far, I do seem to follow the typical tell-tale signs (carrying in the front, craved sour foods, my skin has remained clear, etc.) but I don't take any of it too seriously. I waited until my ultrasound to finally buy blue booties.

I have a fetal h/b of 158 and I had an ultrasound done and they told me that I was having a girl but, you are right about that being an old wives tale because when I was pregnant with my son his heart rate was 160 and the Dr. even said that if he was to go by that tale he would say girl but he was wrong. There is a cute and fun test that you can take on Fortune baby .com and they will ask you some questions and give you your percentage of what you are likely to have. My test results were 86% that I was having a girl. Try it and see what happens. Good luck to you and Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I don't know why you would need an abortion?? If there is no fetal heartbeat, it sounds like you have miscarried. If that is the case, your body will naturally miscarry and if it doesn't, or you may need to have a D&C done, but an abortion would be for a baby that is still alive. Always get a second opinion before any drastic steps are taken!

Well, I let my first baby be a surprise. The doctors knew I didnt want to know, but they would try to give hints along the way. ex: nice fast heart beat. Later I had found out the faster the heart beat, the greater the chance for a girl. Yup, sure enough I had a girl!
