No, I seen signs stating short rest stops only. No more than 8 hours down to 4 hours limits.
Cops can tell how long you been around. By the time of day they check out the reststop to how hot your car hood/engine is.
You may by chance get away living at a busy truck stop. For a few days. Check for showers open to all not just truckers.
I heard of someone living in car outside a 24 hour gym. They work during the day, come home to the gym, work out, shower go to car and nap away. I think they got away with it for 3 months.

No. Why? You are thinking about it?
I have personally slept in rest stop during a busy thanksgiving weekend becz. I could not get a hotel anywhere nearby and it was getting close to midnight.... Yes, in a pinch you could do that I suppose.
But live in your car? forget that. It is also patrolled. They will catch up with you sooner or later. Sooner rather than later I guess.
I know of one person who lived in a hotel parking lot. Showered when guests check out and then shoplift at grocery stores to live this way for about a month. But the law caught up to him.

No. It's called a rest stop for a reason. If it were meant to be a home for homeless people, it would be a shelter, and it wouldn't be in the side of a highway.

No, it would desturb the rest of the others seeing a homeless man living at a rest stop. Put some gas in that car and find your home.

I don't think so. And why would they? Don't they know that highway rest stops are gay cruisy spots where men have sex with each other? If it were me, I'd check out the men's room to see if there are gloryholes in the walls. If so, I'd move to another rest area or park.
