OH,is there ever an agenda !
It's called money.
You have an electric car design, nobody wants to build it because it won't sell, so you work to get rid of gasoline powered cars.
All the E-Check stations are owned by 2 former EPA employees from the Clinton Administration.

No, it's not possible. What "agenda" would there be for "making up" global warming? What would anyone gain? I can see no political benefit in this. The only agenda I see is the Conservative agenda to pander to the big industries that want to conduct "business as usual," unfettered by pesky regulations that would help clean up our environment. But even the Bush Administration has taken heed, and put together a committee to "investigate" global warming...and guess what? This CONSERVATIVE LEAD committee, supported by Bush, found that global warming was REAL, AND MAN-MADE! (Or don't you read or listen to the news?) Now the Bush Administration is proposing legislation (finally!) to help curb global warming...so are you now going to say that the long denying Bush administration is lying too? Again, what would the liberals (they are the ones you are referring to as "those with an agenda" I assume) have to GAIN by lying about global warming being a real phenomenon? We know what conservatives had to gain by denying it, but I can see nothing that the liberals would have to gain. When will YOU take your head out of the sand, and see the truth? If the long-denying Bush administration can finally admit it, why can't you?

Its a difficult decison.. Though i still cant get over that in the 70's they were saying the globe was cooling and how big that was and what that would do to our environment. I wonder sometimes if these scientists just need a platform to stand on to get financing for their theories and projects.. they see a cash cow for themselves in global warming so they go with the flow. Time will tell the truth about it. They are already saying that Global warming will increase for 100's of years no matter what we do now because its too late.. so i say lets have a barbeque!

It hasn't been "proven"; statistically, it's rated as a greater than 90% chance that the increase in greenhouse gases are dominated by human activities.
Who and what agenda would be advanced by pinning global warming on human activities? Exactly who will make money from attempts to reduce the cause and effects? Do you see that as some sort of evil conspiracy?

And what, precisely is your agenda by denying the existence of Global Warming? Perhaps someone is paying you? A lot of people stand to make a great deal of money by denying the existence of Global Warming and ignoring the steps we need to take to prevent it. For example, car manufacturers won't need to develop more fuel-efficient cars or alternative fuels; factories and power stations won't need to reduce their energy use and carbon emissions. In fact if you really want to see where the money-men have influence it's in denying the existence of Global Warming rather than publicising it. That is why it's taken the US Government so long under Bush to even begin to recognise that there's a problem.
It would be putting out heads in the sand to ignore the evidence of global warming that is all around us. Rather than believing one study or report or another just look around you.
I live in southern England where usually at this time of year it's cold and frosty. I went for a cycle ride through the forest near my home and found I was surrounded by butterflies I normally only see from about April or May onwards.
There are reports of bears coming out of hibernation in Russia because they already think its Spring. Birds have not flown south this winter because the insects they feed on have survived all winter long. Hedgehogs in the UK have not hibernated because it's too warm. Glaciers are melting. Already some low-lying islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans has disappeared beneath rising sea levels. The disappearance of an island isn't something you can fake - it's either there or it isn't.
None of this is made up because someone is paying for it to be invented according to some hidden agenda. It may not all be man-made but Global Warming is REAL and it's happening today.
Even if it is an entirely natural process it's not going to be very pleasant for mankind - major cities will be flooded, most likely there will be crop failures and famine, almost certainly there will be an increasing number of violent storms and hurricanes. Irrespective of the cause, we should attempt to reverse, reduce or at least slow down the process of Global Warming by cutting our carbon emissions and reducing deforestation.

Ask your self this who would benefit more from us not knowing?
Its a fact that the Bush and past Republican administrations have down played, edited, and suppressed all the warnings from even their own appointed Scientists due to pressure from the oil company lobbyists who give huge sums of money to the Republican party...you need to stop and think.
Global warming caused by human activity is real and will continue for hundreds of years, a panel of some of the world's top climate scientists said Friday.
Officially releasing a 21-page report in Paris on the hows and the what of global warming -- though not telling the world what to do about it -- the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change gave a bleak observation of what is happening now and an even more dire prediction for the future.
"Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global mean sea level," the report said. (New report says global warming is real )
The head of the panel, Indian climatologist Rajendra Pachauri, called it a "very impressive document that goes several steps beyond previous research."
A senior U.S. government scientist, Susan Solomon, said as the report was released, "There can be no question that the increase in greenhouse gases are dominated by human activities."
The report said man-made emissions of greenhouse gases can be blamed for these problems: fewer cold days, hotter nights, killer heat waves, floods and heavy rains, devastating droughts, and an increase in hurricane and tropical storm strength (particularly in the Atlantic Ocean).
And if you think it is bad now, the harmful effects during the 21st century "would very likely be larger than those observed during the 20th century," the report said.
The panel predicted temperature rises of 1.1 to 6.4 C (2-11.5 F) by 2100. That was a wider range than in the 2001 report. However, the panel also said its best estimate was for temperature rises of 1.8 to 4 C (3.2-7.1 F).
On sea levels, the report projects rises of 7 to 23 inches (18 to 58 centimeters) by the end of the century. An additional 3.9 to 7.8 inches (10 to 20 centimeters) are possible if recent, surprising melting of polar ice sheets continues.

That is the only assumption that can be logically made.
This is not the first time that the earth has went through a period of global warming. There was no one around burning fossil fuels then.
I believe that this is a natural cycle that the earth goes through to replenish itself and there is nothing that man can do about it. We sure as hell can't control hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis or any othernatural disaster. What would make anyone think we can alter global warming in either direction?

The Earth has had a progressively increasing temperature since the ice age - the problem is that in the last fifty years or so, it has accelerated phenominally, and that is most likely because humans are taking cold liquids and solids from beneath the surface and turning into a hot gas above the surface. Logic prevails that the temperature will only rise when we do this. What proof do you need?

Men as always are arrogant. Scientists are the worst. When you don't believe in God you believe yourself to be the master of your world. In my view if you can't grab hold of it and measure it or take it it apart then science is about as accurate as any ones guess. They tout gravity all the time as just a theory but say it is real. Well the effect that we call gravity is real what is not is their theory it changes each time they get new information. It is the arrogance that they demand we bow to what ever the current theory is when we all know it will change that galls most people.
When it comes to the preservation of the planet most people are for it. What we are not for is some nebulous concept that the U.S. must do it all as China blasts pollutants with out concern. We are a large country and of course or pollution level will be greater than most countries that are the size of Texas.

The reverse is true. The consensus of scientist is that global warming is occurring and it's man made. Scientists know how to factor out the natural cycles of warming and cooling. A few scientists deny global warming; most have ties to the oil industry.
