Hillary Rodham Clinton said President George Bush has made a mess of Iraq and it is his responsibility to “extricate” the United States from the situation before he leaves office.

It would be “the height of irresponsibility” to pass the war along to the next commander in chief, she said on Sunday.

“This was his decision to go to war with an ill-conceived plan and an incompetently executed strategy,” the Democratic senator said in her first presidential campaign tour through the early-voting state of Iowa.

From experience of the Indian government, its like this. The opposing party vehemently opposes a Govt. decision. But when they come to power, they are mum on the issue. They don't go ahead and do what they said while in the opposition.
So even if Hillary says that she would like to see the troops out of Iraq, if can't be done overnight. And by the time she is President(if), if will be interesting to see what she will do.
Because you can't just go bust up a country and then withdraw without establishing some kind of sanity there.

Actually, she has yet to commit to whether we should stay in Iraq;l the troops out. As a matter of fact, she is only questioning whether we should be there, if we should increase the troop strength (don't forget the Bush Math, 20,000=48,000) or if it should stay the same. Don't forget. She supported the President because she believed what he said about WMD's, the 9-11 connection, and the terrorist training sites that were never found in Iraq.

I don't care if Paula Abdul ran for president, anybody is better than bush...

I would definitely vote 4 Hillary. nothing is working. I'm tired of seeing 19 and 20 year old's dying in this war with no purpose. It's ridiculous he is finishing his daddy's work. The United States wants to run the world, it's ridiculous. We need to feed our own people, conduct our own business and stop trying to run others. I care about education, healthcare, global warming, the well-being of our next generation. All of that is just being ignored right now...

If we don't get the job done in Iraq, America will be an Islamic Theocracy under Sharia law, along with the rest of the world within the next 20 years.
They have a plan and it appears to be working. The next big war will be a battle between civilization and the jihadi fanatics. God help us all when these nut fudges get nukes.

She's trying to appease the kook fringe (ie Code Pink) and the left wing of the Democratic Party. She should also know that Bush said the war on terror would not be finished in his administration.

**** Morris, former Clinton advisor, said it best that she would be a disaster for this country.

This is but expected from a politician of her hue. President Nixon promised to withdraw the troops from Vietnam and he won the election. That was the time, American really committed blunders and fought a foolish war and perpetrated the worst crimes against humanity. They were really unpopular. Can you compare the situation in Iraq with the Vietnam scenario. The problem with the Americans is that they want the cake and eat it too. They want their enemies to cower under them but they do not want to shed any blood in the battlefield. It is this lack of military honour which encourages them to look for lethal weaponry and use nuclear arsenals. War is fine for them, as long as it does not hurt them. I am indeed sorry for the Americans, despite the fact that I am with Bush, in his war on terrorism.

Routine statement before being getting ready for the next presidential election. The American policy takes its own course eventually whoever becomes president.

Hillary can't keep her stories straight.

She is backing herself in to a corner, as she says one thing to one special interest group, and then something totally different to another.
She's lying and she's not even president!
(Hell, Hillary, at least have the dignity to wait until AFTER you are elected!!!!)

An excellent example of her duplicity may be found in the link.

Yes - she wants him to cut and run so that if she wins the election (what a dreamer) she doesn't have to do it and then take the blame for all of the negative fall out if we were to do that. Too bad her husband didn't finish what he started in 1998 - maybe then we wouldn't be in this situation right now.

You bet she is. The Clintons are a powerful team, despite Bill's affair with Monica. They are so well liked around the world, unlike the current president and administration.
Hillary would be a good president.
